Recognizing the need for research and program development for the incarcerated population that suffers from dyslexia, the Emax Foundation was formed in 2020 to serve as a research and resource center furthering the diagnosis and education of dyslexic inmates and their families. Our amazing team of volunteers are committed to advancing criminal justice reform by expanding the rights of inmates and their families that have been diagnosed with dyslexia. We take our convictions and turn them into action. Think you would be a good fit? Get in touch for more information!

Audrey McGuire is the Founder and President of the Emax Foundation. Influenced in high school by the Attica State Prison riots, Audrey has always hoped one day to be able give back and work for social justice reform in the prison system. As a dyslexic herself, she has experienced not only the challenges of the diagnosis but also the cognitive advantages it can present. Starting out on Wall Street as a public finance investment banker, Audrey acquired over forty years of experience providing public-private real estate and financial advisory services to a host of government and private sector clients. Audrey holds a B.S.F.S. in International Economics from the School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University as well as a P.M.P. certification from the Project Management Institute.
